David is a passionate hillwalker and leader with over 5 years of experience guiding volunteer groups and facilitating Duke of Edinburgh's Award expeditions across the UK.
David loves to introduce people to the joys of hillwalking and outdoor adventure. Sharing his knowledge on navigation and safety, David loves to leave everyone equipped to enjoy the outdoors safely.
When not guiding, David can be found exploring new routes and trails, always seeking to expand his knowledge of the region and improve the experiences he can offer to clients.

Understanding Guide Qualifications
Our guides hold a number of qualifications, awards and affiliations. Here's what some some of them mean, and why they matter for your safety and experience.
Mountain Leader Award
A qualified Mountain Leader can lead others in mountain, hill and moorland environments. Qualification holders are able to manage groups safely during this activity. The award overseen my Mountain Training and issued by one of national Mountain Training organisations (Ireland, Cymru, England, Scotland).
REC First Aid Certification
Rescue Emergency Care First Aid Certification is an outdoor specific qualification focused on providing immediate assistance in outdoor emergencies and medical situations.
Mountain Training Association Membership
Mountain Training Association membership signifies professional commitment and adherence to industry best practices. MTA members commit to continuous professional development and uphold the highest standards of outdoor leadership.
DofE Expedition Assessor
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme is a youth participation award that contains an expedition section. Accredited Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition Assessors are qualified to lead and assess Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.
